Sinugdanan Artist Summit

Supported by Amorita Resort and Hulma Foundation

The OPF believes in the role artists play in catalyzing social change. This conviction was the springboard from which came  Sinugdanan Artist Summit, where 9 artists were sent to the beautiful resort of Amorita on the island of Panglao, Bohol to converge, share insights, rekindle each other’s passion for this nation we call ours, and to translate all this into splendid works of art.

Sinugdanan, which in the Visayan dialect means “the beginning”, aptly described this joint initiative of Amorita Resort and the OPF. Giving gravity to the pivotal role that artists play in nation building, Amorita Resort embarked on this project to inspire young artists and encourage change through art. Artist Summit was held on June 1-3, 2009 at the Amorita Resort, Bohol. Works were exhibited in Absinth, Makati City on July 30- August 12, 2009 and proceeds from the auction of the works were used for the succeeding programs of the OPF benefiting the visual arts.
